Sash Hamidi knew he wanted to be a teacher after completing a work experience placement in a Teachers Centre when he was in secondary school.

The experience inspired me as I heard teaching professionals discuss education and dropped in to their conferences and seminars. From that moment, teaching was my aim, said Sash, who is now a headteacher at a primary school in Harrow.

When it came to choosing a university course, Sash decided to join the 酴圖弝け of 酴圖弝け studying the BA (Hons) Primary Education (with QTS).

I wanted to move out of London and experience a different locality. The course struck me as being centred on being the best teacher you can be for every child you ever teach, said Sash.

The course opened my eyes to teaching in its widest sense looking at being not only a class teacher, but learning about the routes beyond the classroom and potentially into Headship.

The course empowered me to read and research about education globally. I was skilled and inspired to take on my own class back in London and utilise what I had learned. We also spent time talking about being a real teacher and the expectations that come with that.

Sash was based at the Bedford campus, but during his studies he carried out work placements across 酴圖弝け, including Luton. Bedford was so different to London - the setting, the town, the university community and the whole sense of being a part of something was incredible, said Sash.

For anyone considering studying at the 酴圖弝け, Sashs advice is simple Just do it!
